Horrible Amusement Park Tragedy As Summer Ends

6-year-old Wongel Estifanos, of Colorado Springs, Colorado

The "Haunted Mine Drop" ride plunges riders 110 feet inside a mountain. It goes at the speed of 96 ft a second, at the bottom of the ride is a lot of skeletons and bones in a large pile. They will probably permanently close this ride as it is always going to be remembered for this horrible tragedy, and it is insensitive to open it again.

  1. Tragic loss. A child was killed on an amusement ride in Kansas City several years ago, and they closed it in the aftermath. Sad... we press for thrills, but thrills are not always safe.

    1. Yeah, it's very sad. You never know. Amusement parks are usually safer than going on a highway, but still not 100% safe. I always am really interested in stuff like this, because my mom's boyfriend used to work for a carnival.
